Mop, sweep, clean assigned areas of buildings; wash walls, windows, blinds, etc.; operate power janitorial equipment such as floor buffing and scrubbing machines, vacuum sweepers, rug and carpet cleaners, etc. Assist mechanics by holding material, handling tools, etc., as required. Wash windows inside and outside. Assemble tables, platforms, etc., and rearrange or move furniture for classes, conferences, workshops, meetings, social events, athletic events, and various other activities. Assist with lining athletic fields; pull bleachers for athletic events using power tractor. Adjust heat controls to raise or lower temperature as necessary. Sweep walks, driveways, and parking areas; clean catch basins and road drains. Shovel snow and chop ice; spread sand, cinders, and other anti-skid materials on walks, roads, and parking areas; operate power snow removal equipment. Operate tractors and other power equipment to cut grass, weeds, fertilize and trim lawns, haul materials, etc. Rake and remove leaves; pick up paper and other debris; rake, sweep and remove cinders, dirt and debris from walks, roads, parking lots, and lawns, using power and/or hand tools as required. Assist with the planting and transplanting of trees, grass, shrubs, etc.; rake and shovel soil for landscaping; weed and clean flower beds, shrubbery, etc. Replace burned out light bulbs, both interior and exterior and clean fixtures. Load and unload; store items as instructed; report damaged items to supervisor. Unlock and lock building entrances and room doors as assigned; close and lock windows; turn out lights. Operate University vehicles. Report repairs needed in and about buildings to supervisor. Job Requirements: Requires the use of simple writing, adding, subtracting, whole numbers and the carrying out of instructions; and the use of fixed gauges and direct reading instruments and devices in which interpretation is not required. Up to 3 months of effective experience. Shift: Saturday, Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Friday 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Days Off: Wednesday, Thursday NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT YOU OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE AS A PART OF YOUR JOB DUTIES. A VALID DRIVER`S LICENSE AND SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO STANDARD BACKGROUND CHECKS.
