Work with the five commons desk operations during shift, providing support and guidance to employees. Ensure employees are performing customer service responsibilities for residential students, conference and camps participants, and visitors, which may include a variety of duties, such as: process USPS mail and packages; mail forwarding; issue and track residence hall room keys per guidelines and maintain key inventory; submit work orders for core changes; issue temporary ID cards; process payment for various transactions using register system and maintain cash drawer; sign-out loaner keys, recreational equipment, cleaning supplies, etc. Coordinate Lost and Found items per University policy. Communicate policies and procedures to customers and employees. Operate various equipment and computer systems. Identify employee scheduling conflicts and relocate employees between operations. Conduct rounds of commons desk operations. Resolve issues. During summer months, provide support to Conference Services operation: coordinate roster distribution, room assignment process, calendars, building access, and meal cards. Supervise student employees in desk operation during academic year and student office workers during summer. Typical work schedule is Friday – Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Wednesday, Thursday off), with some variation for special events and summer operations. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
