Applications are being sought for a veterinary pathologist by the Department of Comparative Medicine, Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. Applicants should have a DVM or VMD degree, ACVP board certification or board eligibility, and a commitment to the traditional three fold academic missions of teaching, research, and service. The position provides diagnostic pathology service for laboratory animals, including large animals associated with artificial organs research. There are collaborative research opportunities in mouse pathobiology, genetically manipulated mice and rabbits, cancer, aging, toxicology and other basic science research areas. Teaching opportunities include training residents in laboratory animal medicine, pathology residents, graduate and medical students. Comparative pathology opportunities include rounds and individual interactions with MD residents, and anatomic and clinical pathologists in the Department of Pathology. Salary and benefits are generous, and appointment to a fixed term or tenure track position is available and commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the applicant.
