The College of Agricultural Sciences, Penn State Extension – Cumberland County seeks to hire a 4-H Summer Assistant. The Summer Assistant will plan, implement and evaluate 4-H events, fairs and projects with youth at after-school/out-of-school programs as well as various day camps and overnight camp. In addition, the Summer Assistant will provide support at traditional 4-H events by recording registration, conducting workshops and other tasks as assigned. The Summer Assistant works under the supervision of the Penn State Extension – Cumberland County 4-H staff. This is a 12-week position beginning in Mid-May and lasting until Mid-August dependent on the applicant. Applicant must be full-time college student, having successfully completed the first year in a post-secondary program studying education, social sciences, agriculture or related field at time of application. Previous experience with the 4-H program or other youth development programs is preferred. This position requires the applicant to operate a motor vehicle as a part of the job duties. A valid driver`s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks to work with minors.
