Description

This position provides undergraduate program support for the School of Global Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (SGLLC), supporting five departments (Asian Studies; Comparative Literature; French and Francophone Studies; Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures; and Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese) and two programs (Linguistics and Global and International Studies). The SGLLC offers many world language courses and has a strong representation of international students and faculty. Main responsibilities include: assisting with Drop/Add, entering course substitutions, running audits, monitoring program enrollments, pulling transcripts, verifying completion of Major/Minor requirements, certifying seniors for graduation, and overseeing all graduation-related functions including award ceremonies. This position also serves as back-up support for staff handling course scheduling duties. This position supports the School’s undergraduate officers, faculty, advisers, committees, and students on undergraduate-related matters; maintains student records, files, and databases; prepares various reports; answers telephones and greets students and visitors. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with academic support, knowledge of University policies, and familiarity with LionPATH and CollegeNET are preferred, but not required. Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office.
