The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter to fill a position as Communications Manager. This position is responsible for developing the communications strategy for the University's 3 major ERP projects and services: (1) a new enterprise project (SIMBA) launching to replace the University's business and finance system, (2) a student system (LionPATH), and (3) a newly launched HR/HCM system (WorkLion). The position requires strong writing and social media skills to create informative and timely content and manage communications via traditional and new media methods for all enterprise projects and services. The position reports to the Enterprise Management Office Project Director, has one direct report, works closely with project team members, 3rd party project partners, Office of Change Management, as well as sponsors and stakeholders from across the University. Change Management experience or certification a plus. Drupal and WordPress experience a plus. Duties include: Create strategic communication plans in partnership with Organizational Change Management (OCM). Lead staff in planning and implementation for communications, public relations, and initiatives to promote multiple programs, units, or specific areas. Scope, support, and assign necessary resources to deliver strategic message opportunities for Executive Sponsors and Project Leads. Brief administrators and faculty on complex communications issues and prepare appropriate responses for media and stakeholders. Create opportunities for dialogue and alignment for Penn State employees through a variety of avenues and methods (events, social media, etc.). Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across Penn State. Ensure alignment with University communication strategies and ensure relevance, consistency, integration, and appropriate timing of messages across the organization. May oversee the drafting and editing of articles, letters, speeches, and presentation for the administrative leadership. Support project teams by reviewing and recommending refinements to direct communication products. Develop and monitor mechanisms to continually gather feedback from key stakeholders to adjust change and communication strategies where needed. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
