The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is looking for post-award accountants to assist the Finance Department with both industrial and government awards. Responsibilities include: Review costs and request PI award review, if necessary; ensure compliance with terms and conditions of contracts; process JVs and ARLINK batches for costs, reconcile expenses between IBIS and ARLINK; confirm income has been received and properly posted; evaluate level of effort and compliance with contract; work closely with PIs, Office Business Managers, Contract Negotiators, and Research Accounting on post award functions; provide special invoice backup to Research Accounting, as needed; provide audit information to internal and external auditors, as needed; and identify and improve processes. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred. Experience with IBIS, Access, Data Warehouse, and iTwo is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. You should be detail oriented, hold strong organizational skills, and possess strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
