Description

Seeking a responsible, hard-working, full-time student for paid summer internship with the Animal Resource Program (ARP). Under the direction of ARP management and the ARP trainer, you will learn to operate cage washing equipment for the proper cleaning and sanitizing of cages, and deliver animal-related equipment to animal facilities on campus. You will assist with loading and unloading of feed, bedding, equipment, etc. You will follow standard operating and procedures and safety practices for operating equipment and waste management. Additional duties may include performing various Animal Caretaker C duties, such as changing cages, transferring animals, daily feeding, watering, and health assessments of animals. All duties are done while being mentored by a full-time Animal Caretaker C. You may occasionally be requested to assist veterinarians or vet techs with animal procedures. This position may work up to 40 hours per week not to exceed 28 weeks.
