Description

The Electro-Optics Center (EOC) in Freeport, PA, part of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State, is seeking a qualified undergraduate researcher for an intensive summer internship opportunity. This opportunity covers a broad range of academic and engineering disciplines in all aspects of optics, lasers, remote sensing and materials. Specifically, this assignment involves the prototyping and use of head-mounted cameras for visualization in extreme environments. Mandatory Position Description Requirements: Applicants with a strong interest and experience with imaging systems and optics will be given preference. Some programming experience is desired. Students in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will work up to 40 hours per week over the summer. Job Requirements: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
