Part-time student position whose responsibilities will grow to include assisting with all aspects of user support for the ITS Service Desk. Duties include: directly supporting end users; supporting a large user base through e-mail, telephone, and on-site support for a variety of supported IT services; hands-on IT analyzing/diagnosing; creating detailed trouble tickets; updating information in the support database; working directly with ITS Service Desk colleagues in a shared work space, and assisting with supported IT services. Service Desk Activities include answering and assisting faculty/staff/students at the service desk. Offer phone support as needed and take messages. Take and provide photo ID’s for faculty/staff/students. Reset passwords as needed. Install software on systems as directed by IT staff. Installing printer toner cartridges; load paper in lab printers daily. Keep printer areas neat and free of debris. Keep help desk counters uncluttered. Keep student workstation area clean and uncluttered. Keep a log of all help desk activities. Experience providing end user technical support, excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills, and strong attention to details are preferred. Experience using/supporting Microsoft Software and other ITS services (LionPATH, Canvas, Webmail, etc.) is a plus. The available work hours for this job are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday.
