Description

This position serves as the Service Manager for the Commonwealth Campuses website platform. This position requires stakeholder collaboration to determine needs, managing the service lifecycle, as well as managing the service budget. Additional job duties include: staying abreast of developments in web technologies (especially drupal); working with stakeholders to develop and communicate the service's roadmap with internal and external stakeholders; coordinating and managing the evaluation and implementation of future enhancements; communicate the value of this service to the broader campus community; develop and foster connections with campuses, and administrative units to support this service for Penn State; provide training and learning opportunities for end users. The Service Manager will be responsible for collaborating with IT colleagues for planning and management of operational support for the service, including identifying business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating allocation of resources, defining and communicating service milestones and service level agreements. This position reports to the Office of the Vice President Director of IT and also takes direction from the Campus Web Advisor Board. This job will be filled as a level 1 or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and excel at building relationships with key stakeholders, leadership, and staff. Exceptional ability to influence laterally and vertically is essential. The candidate should have a proven record of leadership, the ability to build consensus and collaborate among stakeholders.
