Description

Finance and Business IT is looking for an Information Technology Support Specialist who will work as a member of a progressive, customer-oriented team focused on supporting the daily needs of a diverse information technology customer base. Duties include, but are not limited to, the packaging and ensuring proper operation of numerous software applications; configuration and administration of related hardware; help desk activities; customer support and training; and development and administration of specialized documentation. The successful candidate will participate in diagnosing/analyzing information technology incidents and service requests developing solutions that may include the review, evaluation, and recommendation of new hardware and software products. We are looking for a committed support professional who can demonstrate solid IT support skills, excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills, flexibility and a strong work ethic. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to thrive in a culture of change and a desire to innovate while properly prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously. This is a standing, full-time 40-hour a week position. Competencies critical to success include: strong verbal and written communication; basic understanding and demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Symantec Endpoint Protection, and data backup and recovery; knowledge of Windows 8 and 10, Mac OS X and Office 2013. Specialized competencies preferred are: experience with the efficient configuration and rollout of large bulk purchases of workstations (200+); Microsoft’s SCCM; WSUS, Symantec Endpoint Protection; point of sale, attendance, and inventory applications; job tracking software; knowledgeable of Payment Card Industry Data Security Specifications (PCI-DSS), University policies governing Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Ability to participate in a rotating on-call shift roughly four to five times a year is required. Knowledge of ITIL concepts, specifically Incident Management and Request Fulfillment, is beneficial but not required. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
