The Outreach and Online Education Human Resources Office is seeking an energetic, employee-oriented, and creative human resources (HR) professional to coordinate various human resources services for units within Outreach and Online Education (OOE). This position functions in a team environment reporting to the HR Strategic Partner. The successful candidate will work independently and directly with employees, managers, and HR colleagues on day-to-day activities, including providing advice and counsel on all phases of human resources activities, policies, laws, regulations, and programs related to all aspects of part-time employment, background checks, compliance system requirements monitoring, Worker's Compensation, and Unemployment Compensation. Coordinate and assist with the hiring process for part-time employment and submit appropriate information for processing of HR forms. Approve forms and provide support to HR Consultant and HR Strategic Partner currently on staff. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate: an understanding of applicable federal and state laws; experience responding to employee concerns and providing recommendations for the appropriate application of policies; the application of creative thinking to develop solutions; experience with creating written materials for distribution; and professionally interact with a wide spectrum of constituents. Competencies critical to success are: strong critical thinking skills; ability to manage multiple projects; ability to work collaboratively and/or independently; outstanding written and oral communication skills; commitment to fostering diversity and equal opportunity; and excellent customer service skills. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.
