Sexual Assault Forensic Evaluation Telehealth (SAFE-T) Center


The Pennsylvania State University College of Nursing’s Sexual Assault Forensic Evaluation Telehealth (SAFE-T) Center invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar to help carry out a Department of Justice, Office of Victims of Crime-funded study of the effectiveness of a statewide telehealth model to improve access to quality sexual assault care in underserved communities. The SAFE-T Center offers live telehealth mentoring and consultation to support less experienced nurse examiners in underserved communities. Research and evaluation of the SAFE-T program will be conducted. We seek qualified applicants with a PhD in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Human Development, or similar field focused on violence prevention and health care delivery. This position is designed for scholars who will seek to establish an independent research career upon completion of the fellowship. The fellow will work with Dr. Sheridan Miyamoto on a DOJ-funded evaluation of a telehealth intervention to support forensic nurses to deliver compassionate, high-quality sexual assault care in underserved communities. Primary responsibilities involve conceptualizing and writing manuscripts and research grants and conducting quantitative data analysis. This is an excellent opportunity to develop research experience in program evaluation, implementation science, evaluation of clinical quality, workforce retention, and cost-effectiveness evaluation. This full-time post-doctoral fellowship is funded for 1 year, renewable for a second year, subject to first year productivity. The position should begin summer/fall of 2018.
