Serve as staff support for the Center for Global Studies (a federally funded National Resource Center that serves the University, K-12, and the community). Contribute to the coordination and organization of the Center's activities and operations. Duties may include compiling and maintaining databases, files, and records; arranging for meetings, visits, events, and summer institutes; developing outreach activities; monitoring and maintaining the Center’s internal budgets; tracking expenditures against charges in IBIS; processing budget revisions and payments; supporting grant preparation and reporting with data collection and data entry; preparing reports; composing and processing routine correspondence; managing communications through listervs, websites and social media; maintaining the Center's supplies inventory; answering phone calls and greeting Center visitors; handling mail; etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel necessary; familiarity with IBIS and basic website updating desirable. This position requires a reasonable amount of self-management to complete work independently and with little direction while meeting established deadlines. Employee must be accountable for all responsibilities assigned and is expected to produce high quality work with attention to detail and accuracy. Overall good judgment and problem solving skills are necessary to adequately perform all responsibilities assigned to this position. Seeking applicants with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to work well within a teamwork environment and with diverse members of the public as well as students, staff, and colleagues within the University. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
