Penn State New Kensington is seeking a creative, talented and energetic Marketing and Multimedia Specialist (Multimedia Specialist 2) to join the campus community to assist with a wide range of projects focused on web design and development, graphic design for the web and publications, data analysis, and assistance with photography and videography for print and electronic use. Candidates must be detail oriented, creative, able to work alone and in within a team, have educational or experiential background in web and graphic design, and have experience using a variety of digital equipment. The ideal candidate will have a proficiency in graphic design software platforms (Adobe Creative Suite preferred), proficiency in web design/development/management with end-user experiences in mind (Drupal content management system experience preferred), experience working with web analytics data, and excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong time management and problem-solving skills are necessary. Primary duties of this position include building and maintaining a positive reputation for the campus via the campus website, social media, emerging technologies, and publications; providing graphic design support for the campus for the campus website, social media, and print use; maintaining the administration of the campus website via Drupal by serving as a final approver for content and assisting faculty, staff and students with troubleshooting and training when needed; managing marketing and web requests via the campus ticketing system; monitoring web analytics and tracking of online marketing initiatives to assist with measurement and decision making; working with the Manager with a variety of campus marketing projects as necessary. This individual may also represent the campus and serve as a liaison on various communication and campus/University committees and will interact regularly with clients across the campus. Along with a cover letter and resume, applicants are also asked to submit no more than three examples of graphic design work (samples that reflect digital storytelling and creativity are preferred). Review of a portfolio will be required of final candidates. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Higher education experience preferred, but not required. Our 70-acre campus in scenic, rural Westmoreland County is situated only 30 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, and the location offers a wide range of lifestyles from urban to rural. It is a student-centered campus where the coursework for the first two years of more than 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors is offered, as well as 9 baccalaureate degrees and 5 associate degrees. Students and faculty at Penn State New Kensington have all of the resources of a major research university at their disposal, but in a small college atmosphere. Class sizes are small and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive much individual attention.
