Description

Penn State`s Applied Research Laboratory Archives is seeking a student digitization technician to assist in the scanning of unclassified backlog materials in microform (microfiche and aperture cards) to PDF. This is an opportunity to facilitate the preservation of ARL`s history while gaining experience in archival methods and practices. Job responsibilities include: Scanning of microforms using our ST ViewScan III unit. Limited editing of created PDFs using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI. Updating of metadata in database records using Microsoft Access. Candidates must be professional, reliable, self-motivated and possess strong communication skills, careful attention to detail and the ability to work effectively independently. Additional requirements include: Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and Office applications. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. Preferred: Experience using the ViewScan III (Pattee`s News and Microforms Library utilizes several ViewScan units; candidates may want to familiarize themselves before applying). You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply.
