Description

Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT), a unit of the Vice President of Information Technology (OVPIT), seeks energetic and motivated undergraduate students to work in our new co-learning laboratory, the Dreamery. We envision TLT staff, faculty from around the university, and students all working together in this space. A vital aspect of the Dreamery is access to cutting-edge technology. Faculty, staff, and students can access things like 3D printers, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, telepresence robots, One Button Studio, and other technologies we believe will have a significant impact on learning across the University. Ability to learn specific equipment functionality, a positive attitude and eagerness to help others is essential. The role of Dreamery Consultants include: working with TLT staff to understand and utilize emerging technologies in the Dreamery, assist in testing new technologies, as they become available, greeting faculty who visit the Dreamery, and providing demonstrations of specific technologies, working formally and informally with faculty on how technology can enhance learning experiences across the university, and providing setup and cleanup of meeting spaces. We are excited about the opening of the Dreamery and all of the affordances that come with it. We seek student collaborators that are excited and enthusiastic about working with staff and faculty to re-imagine how new technologies can impact learning. We are looking for current Penn State students who are able to work blocks of time Monday through Friday (hours will vary). This position is available Spring 2018 with possibility of continuing into Summer and Fall, 2018. Please submit a cover letter and resume, including your Spring schedule availability Monday through Friday.
