Engineering and Project Support (EPS), a sub-unit of Administrative Information Services (AIS), is seeking a part-time student intern to assist with endpoint system support while learning and applying technology solutions. This appointment is for Spring Semester, which can be extended based upon satisfactory performance. The applicant should have a strong working knowledge of Mac OS X, Windows, and iOS systems along with their respective office productivity tools (e-mail clients, MS Office Suite, Mac Apps, web browsers). The successful candidate must be willing to learn as well as complete typical daily tasks as they are defined below. Typical daily tasks include the following: hardware and software inventory; software installations; removal and replacement of hardware; application configuration; and troubleshooting. Supported staff are in the Computer Building, Shields, University Support Building II, and the Technology Support Building (off campus). Traveling to and from these buildings will be required as tasks dictate. Student must be a junior or senior in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. The successful candidate will work a maximum of 20 hours per week, with some morning & afternoon times. The nominee must demonstrate attention to detail plus good verbal and written communication skills as part of providing excellent customer service. Note: Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at Penn State.
