Expectations include availability during 10:15 a.m. and/or 1:45 p.m. tours Monday - Friday to evaluate guides at least twice a week. The position will entail weekly meetings to debrief on evaluation results and it will be the evaluator’s responsibility to provide written and verbal debriefing to guides within 24 hours of the tour they evaluated. Evaluators are expected to maintain accurate knowledge of the tour route and tour information and be role model tour guides. Serve as a tour guide when necessary. Enforce all UAO tour policies, routes, and information. Other duties as assigned. Tour evaluators will be paid $9.50 per hour (an average evaluation takes two hours including follow-up) and will also be paid for attending mandatory weekly meetings. In order to apply for the positon, guides must be active members (in good standing) within their tour organization: Penn State Lion Scouts, S.M.A.R.T. or Lion Ambassadors. Tours will be leaving from the Shields Building Monday through Friday at 10:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. -3:15 p.m., which is when the candidate will be evaluating. Candidates should have good attention to detail, should be reliable, and should have strong organizational and planning skills.
