Provide strategic leadership of the College’s Stewardship function and scholarship awarding process. Maintain a stewardship portfolio. Provide ethical, accurate and visible leadership for the college’s stewardship program. Serve as liaison with Associate Deans and Dept heads on all awarding issues. Work closely with development staff and donors to maximize the stewardship function in a way that creates additional gift opportunities. Directly supervise the stewardship coordinator (Alumni Relations and Stewardship Office 4) and staff supporting the awarding function. Closely monitor all decisions and actions related to awarding in compliance with guidelines: Serve on stewardship and scholarship committees and focus groups; integrate knowledge garnered from these relationships to convey complex and time-sensitive information to faculty and staff; supervise the Administration and stewardship of the scholarship awarding for graduate and undergraduate education; advise Sr. Associate Dean for UG ED on available spending; recommend award sources for MSP awards and UG level scholarships; review posted awards and address concerns with departments/units/students/parents; train department staff in awarding philosophy and awarding procedures; audit endowment spending; collaborate with finance office and departments to encourage account expenditures; ensure spending is consistent with donor's intent; steward scholarship donors on status of account; engage donors with updates of student awards and thank you letters; communicate with donors through personalized spending; Serve as a liaison with Donor Relations on all college activities including football, hockey, basketball games; Mount Nittany Society membership and cusp membership; VIP visits on campus; serve as a liaison with Central Development on all fundraising training coordination. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
