Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus has an immediate opening for a Curriculum Development Support Assistant to work in the Center for Community and Public Safety reporting directly to the Associate Director of Continuing Education. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Center for Community and Public Safety specifically related to sponsor-supported curriculum development activities. This position typically demonstrates intermediate knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization and performs intermediate tasks in defined skill areas/applications under general supervision. Tasks may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involve limited responsibility. This individual will be responsible for assembling electronic course materials for face-to-face and distance-learning based programs. Primary duties include: create interactive multimedia instructional components; author AutoRun DVD/CD course materials; film and edit video and audio files; assist in the selection and maintenance of curriculum development materials and equipment. Occasional travel and possible limited evening/weekend hours may be required. This position requires an intense knowledge of office operations and computer systems with competency in numerous computer applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Articulate Engage, Adobe Creative Suite (including Acrobat, Flash, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Dreamweaver), and various video editing software. Candidate is required to adhere to scheduled deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, and focus on thoroughness and accuracy with an emphasis on quality control. Must be willing to assume other duties as assigned. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds with or without accommodation. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
