Description

The Materials and Manufacturing Office (MMO) at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is looking for a junior or mid-level analyst to join our Complex Systems Monitoring and Automation Department to assist with our growing portfolio of projects in maintenance and logistics data analytics for the US Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and commercial applications. Responsibilities include: Conduct systems analysis for the operation and failure of complex mechanical/electrical systems; machine learning; time series analysis; statistical data driven models; pattern recognition; multivariate data analysis; signal processing; feature extraction; develop/implement test plans for laboratory and field data gathering on mechanical/electrical machinery; and contribute to written reports and presentations. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A Bachelor’s degree in Math, Physics, or a related engineering field is desired. The following is preferred: A background in condition-based maintenance and machinery health management systems; experience with data analytics for machinery health management and failure prediction; and experience with the design and application of system health management technologies for DoD and commercial applications. A capability and interest in advanced data analytics is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. This is a one-year, fixed-term renewable appointment.
