The Office of the Bursar centrally manages the billing and collection of tuition, mandatory fees room and board charges, and other charges for the University Park campus, the 24 commonwealth campuses and World Campus. The Bursar produces between 70,000 and 120,000 billing statements per month and manages refunding of excess aid, collections of delinquent tuition, tax form 1098-T, international taxes, etc. The Accountant 3 will perform high level accounting functions, including the reconciliation of accounts with large number of transactions/entries, recording, tracking, and approving deposits. This position will also be responsible for adjusting student accounts for payment/bank corrections, assist with year-end reconciliation and auditing, as well as assist and train Bursar staff members on various accounting processes. The successful individual will have demonstrated a willingness and ability to collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to promote efficiency and productive work environment, have a track record of initiative to participate on projects, and will be self-motivated. Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail ab accuracy, the ability to multi-task are essential. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Accounting and Student systems are highly desirable.
