Penn State Human Resources seeks an experienced Project Management Specialist to provide project management leadership on high-priority HR-related projects associated with the HR Business Process Transformation and other departmental business process improvement projects. This role will work with Human Resource departmental staff as well as other University units to understand detailed project requirements, establish success metrics, assess and address risks, develop timelines, develop and implement communication and change management plans, monitor progress, and report status to key stakeholders. Competencies critical to success include advanced organizational skills, adaptability and flexibility, team and meeting facilitation, the ability to work well with others, sound presentation skills, and the ability to communicate complex information in an effective manner (both oral and written). Candidates must be able to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the university and exercise independent judgment and discretion. Strong analytical skills, proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, formal project management training and industry certification (e.g., PMI) is highly desired. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
