The University Fellowships Office (UFO) is seeking a graduate intern for Spring 2018 (8-10 hours/week). The UFO is the university’s clearinghouse for domestic and international fellowship opportunities. The office assists in identifying and preparing potential applicants and supports students during the application process. The primary fellowships of emphasis during the work period include Astronaut, Boren, Gilman, Goldwater, and Truman; a full listing of opportunities is available at http://ufo.psu.edu. The intern will assist the office by working with students to craft and revise personal statements for fellowship applications; connecting with university and community partners; serving as a voice of the UFO through videos, classroom visits, and presentations; attending weekly office meetings and providing reports. The intern may be asked to create documents, flyers, emails, pamphlets, visual aids, and other promotional materials to advertise and inform about the UFO, and/or for use with UFO events, programs, and meetings. The intern will be heavily involved with the planning and implementation of presentations around the University Park campus. Applicants must be full-time graduate students at Penn State’s University Park Campus, be in good academic and conduct standing with the university, and have prior study abroad or fellowship experience. The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational, writing, analytical skills, and understand the impact of fellowship experiences. This position will report to the UFO Director. UFO is a unit within the Office of Undergraduate Education and administered by the Vice President and Dean for Undergraduate Education.
