The Department of Pediatrics in the College of Medicine at The Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, Pennsylvania, seeks candidates for a research tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful applicant will have a strong background in biomedical research in the area of mechanisms of inflammatory lung disease. The candidate will be expected to conduct independent and collaborative research with experimental models of lung disease and use molecular approaches to investigate mechanisms of pediatric lung disease susceptibility and assist in research endeavors working closely with clinicians in Pediatrics and other departments. The goal of this faculty`s research will be to understand the role of hormones and environmental factors in the development and resolution of lung diseases that affect children, such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia, asthma, cystic fibrosis, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Successful candidates will participate in graduate and medical student education and mentor junior trainees and other lab members by providing input, advice and support for all aspects of their research and career development.
