The laboratory of Prof. Harry Allcock in the Chemistry department seeks to fill an Associate Research Professor position to join our efforts in the synthesis and characterization of new polymers that contain inorganic elements. The position requires a Ph.D. degree in chemistry or polymer science plus experience with the chemistry of phosphorous-nitrogen compounds, and a demonstrated ability to design and execute experiments with minimal supervision. Experience in the purification, manipulation, and fabrication of polymers is especially desired. The individual should have an outgoing and pleasant personality, with the ability to get along with others and yet command their respect. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with a possibility of refunding.
