Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT), a unit of Enterprise Information Technology (IT) is seeking an experienced functional tester to evaluate application updates, enhancements and new features for the university's enterprise learning management system (LMS), Canvas, and other supported services. Responsibilities include performing quality assurance activities, such as: identify test use-cases in collaboration with users; define testing methods; create and execute test plans; document and communicate results, and; work with application developers to resolve any identified problems. This position will also provide functional/specialized guidance to Tier II Canvas Support. The functional tester will also consult with business stakeholder units, the LMS development team and vendors to pursue enhanced and/or new features for the Canvas platform as well as third-party learning tools, as appropriate. Required skills include ability to develop test cases and procedures from functional requirements; execute documented test procedures and record results; experience with test automation frameworks. This position also requires a strong commitment to customer service; detailed oriented, excellent problem analysis and critical thinking skills; outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and; the ability to learn new things quickly and independently. Experience working in a professional software quality assurance role and with a LMS (Canvas) is highly preferred. Working knowledge of standards and test methods for determining accessibility of web pages, code and content is also preferred. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
