Description

Penn State IT is seeking a motivated individual to serve as a Marketing Strategy Specialist in the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology (OVPIT) for executive level communications. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Penn State IT, this position will develop communications materials, presentations, and strategic marketing materials for the Vice President for Information Technology (VPIT) and work closely with the VPIT, Director of Marketing and Communications, and the VPIT's support staff to achieve consistent tone and messaging. This position will design, develop, and distribute these materials internally and externally. Candidates are required to submit samples of their work including a press release and a news article. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong writing and editing skills, the ability to quickly produce and distribute content on deadline, broad working knowledge of both internal and external communication strategies, and the ability to work with C-Suite executives is required. The ideal candidate for this position should posses advanced-level strategic communication skills, as well as experience with planning and management of multiple projects. This candidate must possess strong writing and editing skills, the ability to quickly produce and distribute content on a deadline, be self-motivating with strong interpersonal, project management and decision making skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Candidates must be familiar with Chicago Style; experience with Associated Press style is a plus. Experience with graphic design is highly desirable, but not required. Computer experience with knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe applications is required.
