As the locus for all the University’s global engagements, Global Programs is an area of opportunity for those seeking a career in the field of international education. Global Programs is seeking a seasoned global safety analyst to work in the Global Safety Office within the Directorate of Global Operations and Learning. This role reports to the Global Safety Manager. The position’s focus is implementing global operations policies, best practices, and trainings on health, safety, and security for students, faculty, and staff traveling internationally. This includes providing 24/7 emergency response for travelers, conducting emergency preparedness workshops, advising travelers on recording their information in the Travel Safety Network database, reviewing international travel records for compliance, managing the University’s international health insurance policy, and analyzing and reporting on significant international developments that could impact University travelers. This includes some nights and weekends on call. This role includes conducting independent due diligence of proposed high risk international travel and recommending possible risk mitigation measures. The position interacts with a broad spectrum of internal and external clients and maintains exemplary customer service to all. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired attributes include: knowledge of global issues, strong oral and written communication skills, sound judgment and a high degree of professionalism in handling emergencies or confidential situations, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork. Experience with international security or intelligence analysis, international insurance, emergency management, international education, and/or Terra Dotta software desirable.
