Penn State World Campus is seeking an Event Strategist to join the Brand Experience Team to help coordinate targeted events for Penn State World Campus prospective students, current students, and alumni. This position will work within our Events Team to develop and execute the strategy for promotional events and sponsorships, informational webinars, virtual open houses and networking events, and student success events; as well as to coordinate with our internal partners to ensure a consistent brand experience with events across the organization. As a member of a cross-functional marketing unit, the successful candidate will work with an experienced team of marketing and web strategists, creative specialists, and market researchers to develop data-driven annual event marketing plans. The ideal candidate is someone who has extensive experience planning and executing virtual and in-person marketing events, excellent written and verbal communication skills, team building/cross-functional collaboration skills, client service management skills, and experience with social media as it relates to events. Some evening and weekend work is required. Certified Meeting Professional credentials would be a plus. The successful candidate will report directly to the Marketing Manager for Penn State World Campus who manages the brand advertising, social media, and events team. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
