Description

The Penn State Athletic Communications Office is seeking highly motivated prospective and currently enrolled students who are interested in gaining experience in athletic media relations, communications, or public relations. Students with strong written and verbal communication skills, who are dependable, can easily work independently and as a member of team are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and desktop publishing (InDesign and Photoshop) programs preferred, but not required. Familiarity with AP style is a plus. Social media, basic HTML coding and video experience a plus. Student Assistants in the Athletic Communications Office will work various events across all 31 Penn State Intercollegiate sports, performing tasks that include taking statistics, assisting the media, and transcribing postgame press conferences. An office hours component also includes research projects, writing press releases and features stories, and assisting with website maintenance for GoPSUsports.com.
