Description

Responsible to the Director of Admissions Services and Evaluation for assisting with complex admissions issues. Participate in and administer admissions activities. Admit, refer, or deny applications for undergraduate admission, including international, first-year, and transfer applicants. Handle large volume of inquiries to advise prospective, applicant, and admitted students and families to make informed college-choice decisions. Provide high level of student-centered service in all activities. Present admission and recruitment information to large and small groups of students and families. Represent the University by assisting in recruitment events including high school visits, college fairs, and other events. Assist in the development and implementation of special projects and programs. Prepare and maintain appropriate special program reports, surveys, and correspondence. Some travel and weekend work is required. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and organizational skills are essential. The ability to manage concurrent projects required. Demonstrated high level of customer service in high volume environment is essential. Experience evaluating international credentials and a strong interest in researching educational systems are desirable. Computer experience with knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Campus Nexus, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint highly preferred. Penn State has an excellent benefits package. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
