Description

Part-Time ELL Administrative/Development Support Position to work 5-7 hours/per week as ELL support staff in the development and implementation of an intensive summer English language program; opportunity to work with the ELL Coordinator, H&SS staff, Admissions staff, marketing staff, and other faculty members in shaping and developing ELSIE, the English Language Summer Institute in Erie, including creating marketing documents, web page content, curriculum development, and participate in other activities related to program development. Opportunity to teach ELL classes for additional compensation possible. The ideal candidate has experience reflecting knowledge and expertise teaching in an ELL or foreign language learning program; exhibits superior organizational and communication skills (verbal and writing); is compassionate; can work independently, but is willing to collaborate. Responsibilities: Provide 5-7 hours per week in the development and administration of ELSIE; in collaboration with ELL Coordinator and Admissions Office, create marketing documents to be emailed to prospective students; implement Web Marketing Program by updating web page content, gathering and organizing images and information for newsletters and articles; schedule social media posts as needed; maintain information on student admissions; assist in curriculum and program planning for summer program; assist in gathering and reporting data for program evaluation, grant applications, research, etc.; participate in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned. Required Background: MA in Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, Foreign/Second Language Acquisition/Education or related, knowledge of research and/or graduate study in ESOL theory and practice; experience teaching and working with adult ELL students; experience with multicultural studies and teaching and/or research in multicultural settings. Required Skills: Attention to detail; organized; able to plan, prioritize, and take action; thorough, able to follow tasks to completion; establish and meet deadlines; familiar with multiple software systems, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, basic networking, social media; good written and spoken English communication skills, including grammar and composition; Enjoy wide range of activities and responsibilities.
