Description

Position: Instructors in Community and Economic Development in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology and Education. Starting Date: January 8, 2018 Responsibilities: The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology and Education, College of Agricultural Sciences, seeks applicants for a part-time instructor position in the online Master of Professional Studies program in Community and Economic Development (CEDEV). The person in this position will be expected to teach CEDEV courses in the Spring 2018 semester, with the opportunity to continue teaching it in future semesters. It is anticipated that these courses will be offered both Fall and Spring semesters on a continuing basis, with the chance of being offered in Summer semester as well. This course is taught online through Penn State’s World Campus. Benefits will depend on the type of appointment negotiated. Qualifications: For the CEDEV 500 level courses, requirements are a Ph.D. in Community and Economic Development, Rural Sociology, Economic Development, Agricultural Economics, or related field, and experience in teaching community and economic development or related courses in an online setting. Evidence of high quality teaching or related experience is expected as part of the application. For the CEDEV 400 level courses, requirements are a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Community and Economic Development, Rural Sociology, Economic Development, Agricultural Economics, or related field, and experience in teaching community and economic development or related courses in an online setting. Evidence of high quality teaching or related experience is expected as part of the application.
