The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is seeking to fill the position of Diversity and Student Programs Coordinator. This position will report to the Director of Diversity Enhancement and Student Programs and provide support for the Office of Diversity and Student Programs. Responsibilities include: Implementing and supporting program services associated with the Office of Diversity and Student Programs. Specific responsibilities include developing, coordinating, and evaluating a wide variety of educational programs with the goal of increasing the recruitment and retention of diverse of student hires; improve and innovate methods of recruitment and retention of underrepresented populations broadly represented within the Applied Research Laboratory; work with the Director and hiring managers to identify ARL student hiring needs; assist support staff with the student hiring requisition process; assist with interviews and hiring processes of selected student employees; assist with the coordination of diversity events, to include diversity committee activities, networking events, and career fairs; assist with data collection for diversity and student reporting; track and monitor student grant funding as appropriate; and assist with the processing and tracking of office expenses. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is desired. Candidate selected may subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. This is a one-year, fixed-term renewable appointment.
