The Center for Humanities and Information at The Pennsylvania State University seeks a Senior Fellow for the 2018-19 academic year. Focusing on critical and theoretical approaches to information, the Center brings together each year a diverse, interdisciplinary group of scholars who read and think widely across fields, geographical space, and historical time. The Senior Fellowship is appropriate for scholars employed in tenure-track positions at any level, or who have established a substantial record of publication at a minimum of three years’ remove from the PhD (PhD must be earned before August 31, 2015). Salary is $50,000; support includes a research/travel budget and access to Penn State benefits. The fellow will join an existing community of continuing fellows, and participate in the Center’s colloquia, conferences, and other events. All fellows are expected to be in residence at Penn State’s University Park campus for the full academic year. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent scholarly credentials and a record of peer-reviewed work. The fellowship is also open to projects oriented towards library and information science; for such projects a Master’s degree in library/information science qualifies as equivalent scholarly credentials. Review of applications will begin on January 15, 2018, and continue until the position is filled. To apply, upload a letter of application, a CV (please include names/emails of three references), and a writing sample of 25-30pp. Visit the CHI website at http://chi.la.psu.edu.
