Penn State Abington’s Division of Science and Engineering seeks a tenure-line faculty member in Biology to begin August 2018. The successful candidate is expected to teach a combination of upper and lower level courses to biology, science and allied health majors; offer flexibility in course scheduling; and advise undergraduate biology and science majors. Preference will be given to candidates who complement and broaden the expertise of our current faculty, as well as those who can teach Anatomy and Physiology. The teaching load for tenure line faculty is nine contact hours per semester. The successful candidate will also be required to establish an active research program, ideally involving undergraduate students, that produces peer-reviewed journal publications. Finally, engagement in service to the campus and university is expected. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Biology or closely related field. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated excellence in teaching biology at the college level, and conducting research that involves undergraduate students. The review process will begin on October 15, 2017 and continue until the position is filled.
