Description

The Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management seeks to fill an Administrative Support Coordinator role to manage the operational activities of the administrative team in support of the Department Head. Specifically, this includes: manage daily administration of the office; maintain the department head’s calendar and schedule meetings; assist with creating and sending communications on behalf of the department head; supervise, support, train, and evaluate department staff; maintain and monitor operational, endowment, scholarship, research, and grant budgets; construct budget related reports and forecasts; assist with creation of yearly operation budget; act as a liaison between department and college and university offices. Candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in budgeting, leadership, personnel management, mentoring, and general administration. Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision and be accountable. Often must ensure compliance to policies and procedures are in place and maintained with little or no prompting from others. Must be able to handle complex issues and unusual circumstances as they arise. Must be able to present written/oral information and answer questions about a broad range of topics to a broad audience such as faculty, staff, students, visitors, and other work units within the College and/or University. Must have creativity and/or the ability to solicit ideas from others in developing innovative solutions to a variety of issues (such as facilities, personnel issues, financial, etc.) as they arise.
