The Risk Management Office seeks a dynamic, hardworking, highly skilled professional for the job of Proposal and Award Generalist 4. This position will report to Contract Manager and will perform most work activities in a large volume, fast paced, complex, detailed, and multifaceted environment. This position reviews all contracts routed to Risk Management from Outreach and Online Education (Outreach) for processing and will serve as liaison to Outreach to identify and address contract related issues. The primary responsibilities for the position include: to work collaboratively with the Contract Manager to identify complexity of contracts and defer or process accordingly; reviewing, modifying, and negotiating these contracts in accordance with University guidelines and serving as the final approver to recommend for University signature; advising and assisting with making decisions on requests from faculty, staff, administrators, academic administrators, and administrative offices within Outreach on various non-research contracts, other legal document issues, as well as a variety of risk related questions based on established Risk Management guidelines and protocols. This position will also review assigned contracts from other areas throughout the University as time permits. Requires flexibility and self-management skills, including the ability to prioritize among a large number of responsibilities. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required. Proven ability to work both independently and as a team member to multitask and respond professionally in challenging situations. Strong attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite is a must. Prior contract review and negotiation experience is desired.
