Description

Students are encouraged to apply for the Student Engagement Network (SEN) Internship. The SEN was created to advance student engagement at Penn State. The SEN is seeking interns to help promote student engagement in the Engagement Space, located the HUB-Robeson Center, and the development of the overall network, including a grant program and an online portal. Interns will assist the office staff in the Engagement Space by promoting the network and serving as ambassadors of student engagement. This position includes assisting with the grant program, website content, and social media strategy, as well as serving as voices of the SEN through videos and presentations. Interns will be heavily involved with the planning and implementation of the annual Student Engagement Expo. Interns must be full-time or part-time students at Penn State’s University Park Campus, be in good academic and conduct standing with the university, and be engaged both inside and outside of the classroom. Additionally, interns must possess strong communication and presentation skills, and understand the impact of meaningful engagement experiences. Training Includes: Share the Vision meeting (will take place once a semester or when new interns are hired), orientation and training, live training and meeting, and on-the-job training. Job Responsibilities Include: provide customer service for the SEN and its programs and events, and maintain the Engagement Space in the HUB, interacting with fellow students in a mentoring capacity, conducting surveys, answer questions, and otherwise serve as a liaison to student engagement opportunities. Interns may be asked to create documents, flyers, emails, pamphlets, visual aids, and other promotional materials to advertise and inform about the SEN, and/or for use with SEN events, programs, and meetings. Actively assist with event planning, programming, and implementation. Help research, compile, and review information for office projects and reports.
