Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus invites applications for Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS), (Fixed-term, multi-year appointment - 2 years with option for renewal, 36 weeks) to begin August 2018. Responsibilities: Teach 4 courses (12 credits) each semester related to family studies and human services within the HDFS baccalaureate program. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, and/or online classes as needed. The successful candidate will participate in teaching development, advise students and provide career guidance, participate in campus, university, and community service, and demonstrate currency in HDFS discipline scholarship. Qualifications: Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in human development and family studies, social work, counseling, or a related area. Preference will be given to candidates who can focus on non-profit management, interventions, the family, introduction to human development and who is a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE). Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected, as is an interest in active and collaborative learning that integrates innovative uses of technology. Experience with hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. An ability to engage professionally with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students across the university is required.
