An Assistant Research Professor position is available immediately at The Pennsylvania State University. The successful candidate will perform research in the laboratory of Dr. Hong Ma, Professor of Biology. The candidate will have research training and experience in molecular evolutionary studies of angiosperm and gymnosperm genes, including expression profile, with publication in some of these areas. The responsibilities of this position will include comparative genomic analyses of genes and genome structures, integration of gene family analyses with genome information and functional data. The successful scientist will also interact with other members on collaborative projects related to gene family evolution, bioinformatic analysis of expression profile and other large-scale analyses. The applicant should hold a Ph.D. degree in Botany or Biology (or related field).
