The Earth and Environmental Systems Institute (EESI) at Penn State has an immediate opening for a Proposal and Award Generalist, Level 2, to provide research administration support, including pre- and post-award activity, to faculty within the Institute. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, advising on Penn State and funding agency policies and procedures and resolving problems; supervising the establishment and maintenance of research budgets; preparing financial reports and documents for budget reviews and providing projection/cost estimates; modifying existing budgets; and assisting with salary distribution sheets. In addition, the candidate will assist in proposal preparation, to include reviewing guidelines and ensuring procedures are followed, preparing proposal budgets, and coordinating and providing support for large, inter-disciplinary research proposals. Further responsibilities include coordinating special events such as meetings, seminars, workshops or conference and providing backup to the Office Manager and other Admin Assistants in EESI. Knowledge of and experience with Penn State’s financial systems (IBIS, ERS, FIT, iTwo), along with the ability to work independently, are highly desired. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
