Description

The Synthetic Environment Applications Lab at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University (PSU) is looking for a Systems Engineer. Responsibilities include: system administration, software and system integration, system operation and maintenance, data integration, technical task executions and reporting. Individual will assume a technical leadership role and will be required to work with other ARL personnel and sponsors in a classified environment. This job will be filled as a level 2, level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science and Technology or Computer Engineering preferred. Preferred experience includes: background in cloud, advanced computer graphics, databases, web-based technologies, user interface design and testing, and networked systems including hardware, software and system administration, C++, C, JAVA, Python, Git, SQL, HTML/CSS, Unity, VMware, Windows, Linux. SCI systems experience highly desired. Experience developing and integrating end user applications and performing systems administration functions of different hardware platforms and operating systems is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. This is a one-year, fixed-term renewable appointment.
