The Department of Sociology and Criminology of the Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in Applied Demography, for the Certificate and Masters of Professional Studies (M.P.S.) in Applied Demography which will be delivered through the World Campus (worldcampus.psu.edu) for the 2018 Spring and Summer sessions. The ideal candidate will have a Master`s degree in Sociology, Demography or Applied Demography. A Ph.D. degree is highly desired. Teaching experience, including online instruction at the university level is preferred. In addition, candidates should indicate their ability to design online courses, class blueprints, instructional modules, and assessment mechanisms for their courses. The successful candidate will work with a group of professionals involved in the development of a rigorous applied demography degree for online instruction. Course topics include Principles of Demography, Demographic Techniques, Applied Demography, Data and G.I.S. and Applications in Applied Demography. Review of applications will begin by November 1, 2017 and continue until all of the positions are filled.
