The Graphic Design Program in the Stuckeman School at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an individual for a multi-year fixed term faculty position (3-5 years). Rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. The candidate should have a record of excellence in teaching, research and/or creative practice that integrates graphic design with leading edge and industry standard digital technologies. We expect the successful candidate to contribute to the advancement of appropriate technology integration in the undergraduate program, and become a contributing member in the Stuckeman Center for Design Computing. Qualifications: Successful candidate must have an applied understanding of designing and developing user-focused experiences, information architecture and proven experience with professional web-development. In addition, candidate must have experience in developing interactive features and design elements for desktop and mobile web devices using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and other multimedia video and audio technologies (such as Premier and After Effects). Experience teaching at college-level is required. A masters degree in graphic design or related field is strongly preferred. Professional experience in a design office or creative agency is highly desirable. Responsibilities: Position will include teaching design courses at introductory and advanced levels. Ideal candidate will lead the integration of new technologies and related pedagogy in the program. Candidates are expected to provide service to the university, society and the profession.
