Description

Building Services, a department in the Office of Physical Plant, is seeking an Electrical and Electronics Supervisor. This position is responsible for a crew of approximately 17 technicians that are focused on the reactive maintenance of electrical and electronic systems at the University Park Campus. Responsibilities include: maximizing the productivity of the crew including; assignment of work, verification of time spent on task, adjusting crew size by hiring and the use of temporary resources, communicating with the Scheduler, providing appropriate training, and acquiring the required tools and equipment; ensuring quality and customer satisfaction by reviewing the planned work, conducting site visits to review work in progress and discussing the planned and completed work with customers; providing leadership by monitoring the work environment and making the appropriate adjustments, and by identifying and capturing opportunities to improve or expand services; advocating for safety by completing safety inspections, conducting accident investigations, and providing the appropriate training, identify and resolve gaps in the crew safety plan; accomplishing the required administrative tasks including responding to messages and requests, documenting activities, and responding to discipline issues. The supervisor will need knowledge of the tools, skills, and techniques required to complete electrical and electronics installation and maintenance work. Knowledge of fire alarm and security systems is desired. The supervisor manages the work to ensure value to customer while balancing multiple budgets. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
