The Department of Public Health Sciences and the PennState College of Medicine Informatics and Technology Department are seeking an expert-level Microsoft systems analyst. The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, should have 7+ years of experience working with Microsoft Enterprise Systems, and exhibit excellent attention to detail and documentation skills. This position will mentor other employees within the department, and will serve as part of the larger College of Medicine Informatics and Technology department. Key technologies for which this position will be responsible for supporting, managing, and upgrading are: Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2; VMware ESXI 5.5.; MS-SCOM, SCCM; Exchange 2010; multi-forest domain Active Directory; ADDS, DNS, DHCP, Certificates, Group policies; Power Shell; Sharepoint 2013; Citrix Xen App 6.5; NFS/CIFS shares; MS-Forefront. Additional ancillary technologies for which this person will be responsible for supporting, managing, and upgrading are: VEEAM backup and recovery; IBM Tivoli Storage Manager; Veritas BackupExec. Key soft-skills required for this position are: Ability to manage and adapt to change at the client, departmental, and organizational level. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, balancing time pressures and quality outcomes. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to converse at a high technical level, as well as in more common terms when required. High degree of comfort and acumen contributing in meetings with technical, research, clinical, administrative, and/or executive attendees. The ability to balance client needs with organizational directives governing data privacy and security. The ability to substantially contribute to the strategic technology and support planning of the department while maintaining a reliable, usable, secure, supportable, and available technical environment. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded one year from date of hire.
